Mexican Food Is Good!!!!

I guess living in Southern California, you can't help but looooovvvvveeeee MEXICAN Food!!!!  All that gooy cheese, hot salsa and fresh pico de gallo...mmmmm!

Some of my favorite mexican food places are how my dad calls "hole-in-the-wall".  The little restaurants with barely anywhere to sit and menudo, tongue and brain on the menu.  The salsa bars have pickled carrots, fresh cilantro and chili peppers.  Now that's a real mexican restaurant in Southern California.

Here are some places I have tried and I think you will love them too:

Pueblo Viejo - Menifee, CA
Ruben's - Encinitas
Juanita's - Encinitas
Rudy's Taco Shop - Solana Beach

Some of the larger restaurants with the same type of feel:

El Indio - San Diego www.el-indio.com
Rosa's Cafe & Tortilleria - Temecula  www.rosascafe.com
Jalapeneos - Temecula

The Kid Food Critic

I LOVE FOOD
AND
I AM A KID FOOD CRITIC!

You may think that is no big deal and it may not be to you but it is to my mom.
My mom hates to cook.  She can't stand the sight of raw meat or any kind of meat on bones.  She is sort of a vegetarian but she eats eggs (have to be fully cooked) and fish (have to be cooked so much that it looks like cardboard and no bones).  Her disgust of cooking and meats has not been easy.  She refuses to cook some food like, I have never tasted pork chops.  The only type of meat from a pig has been ham bought from the deli counter.

One Thanksgiving, my dad had to actually clean the turkey and take out the heart and stuff.  My mom walked out of the kitchen because she was about to gag!!!!!  That was the last time we cooked a turkey.

I think that is the reason I am so obsessed with food.  My passion of food is not just eating it but watching hours of Food Network. My favorite shows are "Good Eats" and "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" on Food Network.  I also love to watch "Man v.s Food" and "Bizarre Foods" on Travel Channel.

I am very serious about food and tastes of food.

Every food I eat has to have the three T's:
"Taste, Texture and Temperature."

If any one of the three are not there, then the food is missing something and is not good enough.

One day, I complained about my mom's food so much that she asked me why don't I become a food critic? I can be one but I am 12 years old!

So I decided to start a blog and write about what I think about different restaurants.
On my next blog, I will write about what I think about 2 restaurants with the same type of menu.
